Abstract

A study on blood flow through a stenotic provides a better understanding of the physiology and challenges faced in the treatment of atherosclerosis. The shape, length and height of the stenosis in an artery under various flow conditions play a pivotal role. Research has been carried out by many researchers on the nature of geometry of the stenosis in the artery, nature of the blood and its flow. The results related to the various flow properties such as wall shear stress, velocity, pressure breakdown, flow velocity and resistance are found by many researchers. This paper presents a review on the geometry and methods of solving the model under various conditions.
