BIAYA RAWAT JALAN DAN RAWAT INAP DI RUMAH SAKIT PADA PASIEN DIABETES MELITUS

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus impacts the quality of human resources and significantly increases healthcare costs. This study aimed to determine the costs of outpatient and inpatient care in hospitals for diabetes mellitus patients. This study used BPJS Kesehatan sample data from 2015 to 2023, followed by univariate analysis. The total cost required for outpatient care for diabetes mellitus patients in hospitals is <1,000,000, while for inpatient care for diabetes mellitus patients in hospitals is between 1,000,000 and 5,000,000Diabetes mellitus will impact the quality of human resources and increase significant health costs. In the Philippines, outpatient costs for patients with poor control range from US$727 to US$2463, while for those with reasonable control, the costs are US$614 to US$1520. The purpose of this study was to determine the costs of outpatient and inpatient care for patients with diabetes mellitus in hospitals. This study utilized a sample of 23,804 BPJS Kesehatan data from 2015 to 2023, comprising 21,423 Advanced Outpatient data and 2,381 Advanced Inpatient data. The analysis is univariate. The amount of costs required for outpatient services for diabetes mellitus patients in hospitals is 100,000-250,000 by 87.1%, while for inpatient services for diabetes mellitus patients in hospitals, the amount is 1,000,000-5,000,000 by 62.3%. This cost description provides an overview for patients with diabetes mellitus in Indonesia regarding the minimum costs required for outpatient and inpatient care at the hospital.
