Abstract

Ferroportin reduces intracellular iron, inhibits CDK2 and suppresses SAMHD1 phosphorylation thus inhibiting HIV-1 RT. Ferroportin expression leads to overexpression of IKBα and inhibition of HIV-1 transcription.
