Abstract

Globally, organisations face constant challenges in inventory management, suggesting the application of innovative strategies to optimise their systems. The central objective of this research endeavour is to enhance inventory management through the implementation of pragmatic and operational logistics instruments. The methodology employed in this study encompassed a dual approach, integrating qualitative and quantitative methods, to analyse and evaluate the efficacy of these tools. The applied tools included a SWOT analysis and a Pareto diagram, which were used to identify the main problems in the Commercial and Industrial company. Furthermore, an ABC classification was conducted to identify products with the highest sales share, and a neural network model was employed with the R-study software to assess the feasibility of enhancing the inventory system. The analysis for the application of inventory methods using the Silver Mail (SM) and Warner Winting (WW) models yielded a percentage of 3.7% and 7.4%, respectively, which contributed to the optimisation of the inventory management system in the Commercial and Industrial Company. The research demonstrates the potential for significant optimisation of inventory management within the company through the application of neural network models, thereby underscoring the integration of these innovative tools. The findings underscore the viability and efficacy of neural networks in addressing global challenges in inventory management, thereby ensuring enhanced competitive performance in business operations.
