We demonstrate a silicon carbide (SiC) microdisk resonator with optical Q up to 5.12×104. The high optical quality, together with the diversity of whispering-gallery modes and the tunability of external coupling, renders SiC microdisk a promising platform for integrated quantum photonics applications. © 2014 AIP Publishing LLC.
