Abstract
An interview with John M. Keller, one of the most respected and recognized scholars in the field of instructional design and educational technology, is presented. Keller mentions his academic career in San Diego State University, Syracuse University, and Florida State University. He notes his envision on the fundamental role of motivation in a sustainable research area. Keller also cites the principles of the Attention, Relevance, Confidence and Satisfaction (ARCS) motivational design theory.
