Abstract
During the Covid-19-pandemic many refugee shelters in Germany were affected by Covid-19 disease outbreaks. In contrast, hardly any cases were reported in German military barracks which partly have comparable structures. We discuss why the risk of Covid-19 infection may be lower in military barracks, and implications to be derived for the management of Covid-19 in refugee shelters.
