Abstract

The objective of this article is twofold: first, to describe the origin and development of Mnemosyne, Digital Library of the Silver Age (1868-1936); and, second, to justify the need to create the “Literatura de Quiosco” collection within that library. This involves explaining which metadata are necessary for the specialized cataloguing of works, in order to satisfy the research objectives of any professor or user. This experimental research makes it possible to conclude that the creation of a reconfigurable metadata model is fundamental for the construction of an open and dynamic literary canon adapted to the readers’ specific needs.
