Abstract

A novel detection method of the SARS-assocd. coronavirus (SARS-CoV) antigens was reported by using a home-developed Ref. surface plasmon resonance (SPR) Instrument, which can monitor reaction spots with control in a single flow cell. The successful detection of the SARS-CoV antigens was recorded by the measurement mode of fixed angle in which Protein A was employed to obtain a higher sensitivity. Then an improved ref. SPR system, high throughput, multi-analyte imaging SPR (HMI-SPR) anal. system, was briefly illuminated by using a 5-spot sensor chip to detect two kinds of IgG. By utilizing a ref. area, the performance of the SPR system was improved to avoid the refractivity inference of different solns., different temps., and even to eliminate the disturbances due to non-specific absorptions. In general, the home-developed Ref. SPR Anal. System is promising to implement clinic diagnosis by directly detecting the crude patients' samples without pretreatment procedures. [on SciFinder(R)]
