Abstract

The role of the village government is very important for the progress of a village. One of the functions of the village government is to overcome waste problems in the community. Excessive accumulation of waste has many negative impacts on the environment where the community lives, especially on public health. In this study, the researcher used a qualitative descriptive research type. Researchers use this type of descriptive qualitative research with the aim of studying or describing the phenomena, attitudes, and events of the research subjects in depth. The purpose of this study is to determine and provide an overview (description) of How to Implement Regional Regulation Number 5 of 2011 Concerning Waste Management in Sukarame Village. The results of this study indicate that the performance of the village government is quite good in overcoming waste problems, but there are still several obstacles such as minimal community participation and minimal resources that are limited to the amount of implementation budget, human resources that are limited to the number of personnel or HR available, and facilities and infrastructure that have limitations in supporting work facilities.
