Abstract
Safe driving requires concentration, a reasonable level of intelligence and maturity, complete control over all muscle movements and freedom from the distracting influence of severe pain. In addition, a safe driver must always be alert, fully conscious and capable of quickly appreciating and responding to changing traffic and road conditions. This section lists and discusses the most common neurologic conditions that can adversely affect driving ability.
