Abstract
The article discusses the use of the type 2 novel oral poliovirus vaccine against the type 2 circulating vaccine-derived poliovirus outbreak in Tajikistan in 2020-2021. Other topics include the identification by the Regional Reference Laboratory (RRL) for polio in Russia of a specimen from a Tajikistani patient with acute flaccid paralysis (AFP) and the RRL result showing a 20-nucleotide divergence of the isolate from the Sabin vaccine virus strain.
