Abstract

Abstract : Precision agriculture has emerged as a key solution to address global challenges of food security, resource optimization, and environmental sustainability. This research presents the design and development of an IoT-based Soil Nutrient Monitoring and Automated Fertilizer Dispensing System. The system integrates NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium) sensors, soil moisture and temperature sensors, and an ESP8266 NodeMCU microcontroller to provide real-time monitoring of essential soil parameters. By leveraging sensor data and automated control, the system delivers precise amounts of fertilizers tailored to the crop’s nutrient requirements, reducing manual intervention and minimizing over- or under-fertilization. A web-based interface allows remote access and data visualization, enabling farmers to make informed, data-driven decisions. Experimental testing demonstrates the system’s effectiveness in optimizing nutrient delivery, improving crop health, and conserving resources. This work contributes to the advancement of smart farming technologies, offering a scalable and cost-effective approach for enhancing agricultural productivity and promoting sustainable farming practices.
