Abstract
The article reports on the high prevalence of fentanyl detected by the Maryland Emergency Department Drug Surveillance System in Baltimore, Maryland in 2019. Topics mentioned include the difficulty of implementing liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry for point-of-care testing, the use of the Vitros 5600 Immunoanalyzer with fentanyl immunoassay reagents in routine fentanyl testing, and percentage of substances detected in emergency department patients evaluated for drug overdoses.
