Abstract

If the alloy is melted for a longer time after adding the Al-Ti mother alloy than the critical time obtained here, a mechanism of grain-refinement in Al-Ti low alloy, that is, the nucleations of aluminum on the dissolving TiAl//3 crystals, will be unable to operate. The TiAl//3 crystal was a strong grain refiner. 14 refs.
