Abstract

Novel tetravinyl- and tetraallyl-substituted laddersiloxanes were synthesized and characterized. It was shown that peripheral olefins could successfully undergo hydrosilylation quantitatively, possibly leading to tetrahalide ladder structures. All reported functional laddersiloxanes LS (LS-vinyl4, LS-allyl4, LS-Cl4, and LS-I4) thus constitute promising building blocks for more complex inorganic-organic hybrid materials.
