Abstract

The development of numerically controlled (NC) machining training systems based-on virtual machining technology is presented for supporting training of trainee to acquire the theoretical know-how, practical skills, and the problem troubleshooting techniques on the usage of NC machines and NC programming. The architecture, underlying theoretical basis for the development of training system based-on virtual machining is described. Several digital NC machining training systems had been developed and are practiced in the authors' university and in a professional training center. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
