Abstract
This paper addresses the use of transmedia narratives as a re-source for the teaching-learning process in Audiovisual Communication degrees at Spanish public universities. For this purpose, a mixed research design is established, using as tools a review of the literature on the subject and a content analysis of 331 teaching guides, in which a search for related termi-nology has been carried out. The results indicate that transmedia narratives are underused in teaching despite the considerable scientific production that accompanies them, as only 24.1% of the subjects include a term related to them. Transmediality is not exploited as a method for facilitating the acquisi-tion of knowledge and skills, as it appears in only 13.9% of cases. In this way, the opportunity to work on the transversality of these resources, which can promote meaningful learning and involve pupils by making them active subjects of transmedia creations, is wasted. The use of these strategies as part of the didactic tools can lead to a better use of these techniques, which are al-ready of great importance in professional practice.
