Abstract

The selection and evaluation of suppliers in the supply chain is a crucial problem. The aim of this study is to choose the most appropriate supplier for a textile company in Denizli. Firstly, the literature review is done, and then the criteria are determined through the interviews with the firm owner, the purchasing specialist and the chief of the weaving plant. The criteria weights are determined by using AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) method. Respectively, AHP, TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution), VIKOR (Vise Kriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje), SAW (Simple Additive Weighting), GRA (Grey Relational Analysis), MOORA, ELECTRE II (Elemination and Choice Translating Reality English) and M-TOPSIS are the multi-criteria decision-making methods which have been used because of their flexible structures providing appropriate solutions, and also their ease of understanding and adaptability to changes. Different rankings obtained are combined to a single one with the aggregation methods such as Borda counting method and the Copeland method. It is determined that the supplier T1 is the most appropriate alternative.
