Proceedings of a workshop on alkenone‐based paleoceanographic indicators

Abstract

The papers in this theme derive from a workshop on alkenone‐based paleoceanographic indicators held at the J. Erik Jonsson Center of the National Academy of Sciences in Woods Hole, Massachusetts, October 3–6, 1999. The papers fall into two groups: “position papers” prepared in advance of the workshop by the leaders of six different working groups and “reports” prepared during and after the workshop by rapporteurs and members of the working groups. Their publication here is intended to provide a record of the discussions and thus to serve to the paleoceanographic community. An overview of the conference and its participants is also provided.
