Abstract

Recently, the designated manager system begins to be introduced to the art museum, as a method that makes management efficiency. On the other hand, there is anxiety that the arts sector decline by using this system. In this study, the change in the management and the scheme by introducing designated manager system was investigated, and the influence to local area was asked to the art museum director. As a result of the investigation, the art museum which was introduced designated manager system reduced cost of the management and improved the scheme. However, there were peculiar problems by using this system into the art museum, such as the difficulty of changing manager and to bring up staff member to expert. Finally, it was shown that it is important for the maintaining art sector to support the designated manager by administration.
