Abstract

Defining the molecular pathogenesis of diabetic nephropathy remains a huge challenge to the medical research community. Recent studies of knockout mice have provided new insights into the role of osteopontin in the pathogenesis of diabetic nephropathy. © 2010 International Society of Nephrology.
