Abstract

The research objectives were to determine the relationships between age, education level, previous employment, and marital status towards the quality of life among the elderly at Rumah Seri Kenangan, Cheras. The study employed a quantitative research approach through the adoption of the Ferrans conceptual model for quality of life. The consensus sampling technique evoked a sample size of n=145. The analyses obtained from this study revealed that there were no significant relationships between the first three independent variables to their quality of life except for marital status; the quality of life is better if there is companionship among the elderly. Keywords: Elderly; Quality of Life; Social environment; DemographyeISSN: 2398-4287 © 2019.
