Abstract

Partial discharge (PD) pattern recognition of electrical equipment refers to identify the partial discharge fault types of electrical equipment. As a basis of partial discharge fault diagnosis technology, PD pattern recognition provides the important reference information for risk assessment of PD. We summarized the recent researches and developments of PD pattern recognition, and reviewed the structure of PD patterns, the extraction of features, and the selection of classifiers, respectively. Moreover, we discussed some problems existing in the research and practice. Finally, we described the future developments and applications of PD pattern recognition, including the information fusion of features based on a variety of PD patterns, the optimization of classifiers, and the classification decision.
