Abstract
1. The case histories and results of relevant investigations on three patients with benign obstruction of the superior vena cava for the past 20, eight and six yetrs are reproduced. 2. The cause of obstruction in Case i was spontaneous thrombosis and in Case 2 and Case 3 the obstruction was produced by tuberculous lymph glands. 3. One of these patients (Case 2) had incapacitating symptoms with progressive rise in the venous pressure. The blocked superior vena cava was resected and replaced by an autogenous venous graft.
