Abstract

Users of legal knowledge base systems (KBS) are supported by using task-analysis as the basis for human-computer interaction, and makes sure that it is reflected in the design of the interface. Any legal KBS needs a description of the current case. The case frames aid the users in entering the case data at the level of the users understanding. These frames capture more common sense notions about the domain, and relate these to case law and legal expert knowledge to facilitate abstraction to legal knowledge as presented in legislation.
