Abstract
The article offers information on the impact of economic crisis on the nutrition security in Africa. The author mentions that the dire economic climate has reduced the country' export demand, foreign investment, commodity prices and inflows, resulting to the decline of trade and household income. He adds that global recession has also exacerbated the working and living conditions of the people. To address the problem, he believes the need of imposing an effective social protection policies for the urban poor, increasing agricultural productivity of small and large scale farmers, and investing in human capital development.
