Abstract
The article focuses the Ben-Gurion National Solar Energy Centre located in Negev Desert, Israel. According to its director physicist David Faiman, this photovoltaic power facility is the future of the renewable energy in Israel. For physicist Robert McConnell, this technology is a real contender as a solution to the global energy problem. The secret ingredient of the facility is positioned at the focus of the ten-ton reflector, a square grid 10 centimeters across called a concentrator photovoltaic cell. Instead of spreading solar panel across a broad area to capture photons, the facility employs a reflector to concentrate the light 1000 times onto a small target. Other significant information about the matter is provided.
