Abstract

GAS pharyngitis through appropriate primary prevention measures and treating all symptomatic GAS sore throats with a course of oral or parenteral penicillin (8) presents the opportunity for primary intervention of RHD, (9) thereby reducing the economic and major public health consequences associated with disease burden.
