Abstract
The teaching-learning process has been rapidly transformed as a result of the insertion of new technologies. Thanks to these, all spheres of society have witnessed changes of all kinds, education does not escape from this. This work has to describe the improvements of the educational process through virtual platforms. From a bibliographic, theoreticaldocumentary tour, we describe the most significant improvements in the educational process from the use of virtual platforms. The possibility of building collaborative learning communities, mediated by technologies, flexible and adaptive to the environment in which they are immersed is evidenced. Due to new technologies, education reaches everywhere, breaking down the physical barriers of the classroom. It is concluded that students become the center of the educational process, being autonomous and critical. Educational institutions must ensure the proper implementation of new technologies in order to guarantee an optimal and competitive service.
