Checklist dos copepoda (Crustacea) de vida livre do estado de Mato Grosso do Sul

Abstract

This checklist gathered the free-living Copepod information from Mato Grosso do Sul State. It was recorded 20 species for Calanoida, 26 for Cyclopoida and four for Harpacticoida. That diversity was similar to Mato Grosso State located in north frontier and quite different to São Paulo State in the east frontier. Part of this difference could be explain by the greater area sampled in Paraguai River Basin when compares to the sampled area in the Paraná River Basin. The main ways for the knowledge increase of Copepoda in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul were discussed.
