POLLEN SPECTRA FROM RECENT HELIANTHEMUM COMMUNITIES

Abstract

Pollen spectra are given from eight present‐day habitats of Helianthemum species. From a consideration of the recent and Late‐glacial spectra it is concluded that Helianthemum‐rich communities contributed only a part of the Late‐glacial pollen rain, and that they were probably mostly grass‐dominated. Some implications of the occurrence of Helianthemum for Late‐glacial conditions are discussed. Copyright © 1961, Wiley Blackwell. All rights reserved
