Model predictive control of a crude oil distillation column

Abstract

The project of designing and implementing model based predictive control on the vacuum distillation column at the Nynashamn Refinery of Nynas AB is described in this paper. The paper describes in detail the modeling for the model based control, covers the controller implementation, and documents the benefits gained from the model based controller.
