Abstract

A high resolution pulsed field ionization-photoelectron (PFI-PE) spectra study of CO2 in the region of 13.6-14.7 eV, covering the formation of vibronic levels associated with the CO2+(X2Πg; v1+ = 0-3, v2+ = 0-3, v3+ = 0-4) states, was performed. The PFI-PE spectrum allows the identification of many vibronic bands. The formation of vibronic bands corresponding to excitation of the v2+ and v3+ modes in both odd and even quanta are clearly observed.
