Abstract
In India, agricultural entrepreneurship is essential to supporting sustainable development and rural economic growth. Agro-based businesses, such those that process food and produce biofertilizers, are essential for creating jobs, adding value, and fostering economic integration between rural and urban areas. This research examined the opportunities and limitations encountered by agricultural entrepreneurs in India, with a focus on agro-based enterprises. Data were gathered from 180 participants, including farmers, agro-entrepreneurs, and stakeholders in agro-industry. Standardized questionnaires were utilized to conduct quantitative and demographic studies. Findings indicate that opportunities such as government assistance programs, rising consumer demand for organic and processed foods, and advancements in agricultural technology promote entrepreneurship; however, several challenges persist. Factors include inadequate financial accessibility, fragile infrastructure, market volatility, and limited comprehension of global value chains. The research indicates that enhancing financial inclusion, improving rural infrastructure, and advancing skill development initiatives are critical for fostering agricultural entrepreneurship in India.
