Abstract

The article discuss the main features of fly ashes as raw material for geopolymerisation. This article is focused on the examination of the fly ash (FA) from the CHP plant in Skawina (Poland) and assessment it as a main component of geopolymers. The article is focused on chemical and physical properties. The characteristic of the FA is presented, including particle size distribution, density, and chemical composition. The all parameters are discussed according to advantages and disadvantages using this FA to geopolymerisation process, including possibilities to achieve better results through proper preparation of the raw material.
