Abstract

Three new acetylenic carotenoids, pectenol B [=(3S,4S,3’R)-7’8’-didehydro-β,β-carotene-3,4,3’-triol], (3S,4R,3R)-4-hydroxy-alloxanthin and (3S,4S,3’R)-4-hydroxy-alloxanthin have been isolated from the Japanese sea mussel Mytilus coruscus. © 1988, The Japanese Society of Fisheries Science.
