Abstract

The ashes of the livers of fishes caught in the Pacific Ocean in 1958 were analyzed for their radio contamination by the ion exchange and precipitation methods. As a result, some radio nuclides, 59Fe, 65Zn, 115mCd and 90Sr+90Y were identified with the measurements of their half-lives, absorptions and energies. The maximum concentrations of the elements determined were 59Fe of 4.0×10-3µc, 65Zn of 4.0×10-1 µc, 115mCd of 6.3×l0-3µc, and 90Sr + 90Y of 2.5×l0-5µc. © 1960, The Japan Society for Analytical Chemistry.
