Hořava gravity: Motivation and status

Abstract

In this short contribution, I will review the status of Hořava gravity as a proposal for quantum gravity. After summarizing the framework and phenomenological constraints, I will present some recent work on the renormalization group flow in 2 + 1 dimensions. The main result is that the theory is asymptotically free and flows to an infrared fixed point connected to a Lorentz-invariant theory.
