Abstract
The article presents the author's views on live art documentation highlighting photography as a conceptual medium for documentation. He explores how performance artists are using publicity photography, Valie Export's "Genital Panik" body performance as an archived example, and Cindy Sherman's ideas of self-portraiture. He discusses his experience of researching on live art documentation through photography. He comments that is it absurd to use documentation if the work is inherently conceptual.
