Field and analytical drogue studies applicable to the st helena bay area off South Africa’s west coast

Abstract

Evidence is presented, from CODE drifters, of a strong time-dependent surface current flowing southwards from St Helena Bay. The local construction of the drifters is discussed and their performance against a likely background of circulation in the Bay is analysed by means of a simple numerical scheme. © 1987 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
