Abstract
A new technic to demonstrate dissecting popliteal cysts of the knee is described utilizing 10 to 50 μCi (average 40) of 131I HSA intra‐articularly. In thirty‐seven scans of 26 patients, nine instances of dissecting cysts were noted. These occurred most often in rheumatoid arthritis. The importance of clinical differentiation from thrombophlebitis is emphasized. The demonstration of dissecting popliteal cysts utilizing tracer doses of 131I HSA has been found to be simple, safe and useful. Copyright © 1971 American College of Rheumatology
