Abstract
A review. This article investigates the use of porphyrin and phthalocyanine photosensitizers as PDT agents for the treatment of melanoma. Melanoma is a malignant tumor that originates in the melanocytes. Melanocytes are found randomly throughout the basal cells and are found in the deepest portions of the epidermis. [on SciFinder(R)]
