Abstract
Abstract: Distance higher education institutions develop their academic activities in a nonface to face manner using different scenarios of interaction. One of them is the Circles of Academic and Social Interaction and Participation, CASIP, which arise as distance education strategies to allow students to have an integration and interaction for the construction of knowledge and to promote presential learning. The National Open and Distance University, UNAD, used this type of methodology integrating five students and a teacher in its implementation. The research has mixed methodology and it was conducted with a group of 5 students and a teacher who developed the CASIP strategy corresponding to the course of Mass Balance and Energy in the UNAD. The objective of this research is to identify and compare the perception of students and teachers on the CASIP methodology. The results show that the Circles of Interaction and Academic and Social Participation are important for the students because they contribute to the continuous improvement of their learning.
