Abstract

Seven species of Digenea of Pimelodus maculatus of the river São Francisco, Três Marias, Minas Gerais State and of the river Paraná, Porto Rico, Paraná State are presented. Plehniella coelomica and Crepidostomum platense was the more prevalent and they presented mean abundance more elevated in the two systems. An ecological analysis involving the occurrence of these parasites and the diet of P. maculatus of the two rivers is supplied besides the amplification of the known geographical distribution of most of the species for the river São Francisco. The hypothesis of vicariância of the populations of P. maculatus of those two basins is strengthened through the fauna of presented Digenea.
