Abstract

This report contains recommendations for performance-related procedures to test and select recycled hot-mix asphalt (HMA) and portland cement concrete (PCC) materials for use in unbound layers of highway pavements. The report provides a comprehensive description of research intended to help materials engineers evaluate and select the reclaimed asphalt (RAP) and reclaimed concrete pavement (RCP) materials that should contribute to good performing pavements. Also, the report describes procedures for the recommended tests. The contents of this report will be of immediate interest to materials engineers, researchers, and others concerned with the construction and performance of asphalt and PCC pavements.
