Suresmile technology is one of the latest advanced technologies in orthodontic treatment which has been introduced since 1998 and commercially released in 2005. The latest advancements in Dentistry other than Suresmile technology (OraMetrix) are Insignia (Ormco), orthoCAD (Cadent) and iBraces (3M Unitek) It uses advanced technology such as three-dimensional (3D) imaging of the dentition, robotics, and computer-aided manufacturing and digital model technology. It has been used widely by orthodontists and it may be expanded all over the world in the future. The advantages of this technology which provides benefits to the patients especially in terms of length of treatment make the patient willing to pay greater cost just for shorter treatment time. They might feel comfortable throughout the treatment as the number of visits to the dentist can also be reduced by using Suresmile. It is important to understand the accuracy and reliability of these imaging devices. Thus, proper knowledge about this technology is at utmost essential to ensure the great and successful outcome of the orthodontic treatment. Hence, a review was done to analyze the effectiveness, efficiency, reliability, advantages and disadvantages of the sure smile technology.
