Aportaciones de Goffman al análisis de un centro de rehabilitación para mujeres en Tijuana

Abstract

El presente artículo busca presentar la manera como las mujeres viven el internamiento en un centro de rehabilitación de Tijuana. El estudio se centra en el análisis del centro de rehabilitación desde la perspectiva de Institución Total acuñada por Goffman; asimismo retoma las categorías de cuerpo y género para ahondar en la realidad estudiada. Las técnicas de investigación utilizadas fueron las entrevistas a profundidad, las observaciones etnográficas y la impartición de un taller de arte, lo cual permitió que las mujeres se sirvieran del dibujo y la palabra para expresar cómo pasan el tiempo en el albergue.This paper seek to introduce the experience of women living in a rehabilitation center of Tijuana. The study focuses on the analysis of the rehabilitation center putting an emphasis on Total Institution Theory formulated by Goffman, also takes the categories of body and gender to delve into the reality studied. The research techniques used were : in depth interviews, ethnographic observations and an art workshop. The workshop, as a methodological tool, allowed the women to use the drawing and the words as a way to express how they spend their time in the shelter.
