Abstract
This study aims to assess Kawasan Wisata Pendidikan Lingkungan Hidup (KWPLH) Balikpapan as a learning resource of conservation. The research method is institutional survey and field observation. Based on field observations, such as the management of bear’s enclosure in their natural habitat, and its activity can be observed by the community as a learning resource of conservation. Analysis of guest book documents (2012) indicated that KWPLH Balikpapan visited by 50,000-70,000 people. Opinions from visitors briefly can be concluded that KWPLH Balikpapan is a comfortable place to learn and have a good potential to acquire knowledge, and the effort to conserve sun bears and their habitat.
