Abstract
This study aimed to observe psychological well-being of theater actors, specifically in the Teater Satu troupe, Lampung. Psychological well-being aspects was examined through participant observation in the creative process and interviews with actors from the Teater Satu troupe. Participatory observation was carried out in the production of Kursi-Kursi (The Chairs) play by Eugene Ionesco in July-August 2016 in two-week effective time range. The play was to be performed at the SCOT Summer Festival, Japan. The reference for observation in this study are psychological well-being theory according to clinical psychologists Carol D. Ryff and Corey L. M. Keyes. The observation shows that the development of positive relationships between group members, autonomy, environmental mastery and self-growth are the characteristics or symptoms of psychological well-being that are most observable in the dynamics of the actor's creative process, while self-acceptance and life purpose arise after four other aspects elicited.
